Visit questions

Do I need a mammogram or blood work before starting HRT online?

Your licensed provider decides what is needed based on your age and history; often that means being up to date on routine screenings such as mammograms, while labs are not always needed to start estrogen. Testosterone usually requires baseline blood work. Have your recent screening dates handy for your online visit.

How does an online menopause visit work? Do I talk to a real person?

You complete a secure online health questionnaire, and a licensed provider licensed in your state reviews it, sometimes with a video or phone visit depending on your state and treatment. If a prescription is appropriate, it is sent to a licensed US pharmacy and shipped to your door. You can message your care team with questions afterward.

Is it legit and safe to get hormones prescribed online?

Telehealth can be a safe way to get care when a licensed provider reviews your history and prescriptions are filled by a state-licensed pharmacy. Red flags include sites that sell prescription drugs without a prescription or any clinical review. The FDA's BeSafeRx program explains how to check that an online pharmacy is legitimate.

Which states do you serve?

Availability depends on where you live, because providers and pharmacies must be licensed in your state and some programs have state-specific rules. Enter your state at the start of your visit to see which programs are available to you.

Do I have to do a video call, or is it all online forms?

It depends on your state and the treatment: many programs can start with a secure online questionnaire, while some states require a live video visit. You will be told before you book if a video visit is needed.

What does licensed provider mean?

A licensed provider is a clinician licensed by your state to evaluate patients and prescribe. License types differ in training and scope, and all must follow state rules for the care they provide. You can ask your provider about their credentials at any time.
